National Disability Institute's Real Economic Impact Tour Produces MoneyMondays Radio Series Back to news
Thursday, March 03, 2011

In order to better communicate with people who are blind or visually impaired, the National Disability Institute's Real Economic Impact Tour has produced a radio series of financial tips and myth-busters to be aired by the Georgia Radio Reading Service. As a tie-in to the REI Tour’s MoneyMondays weekly text-messaging campaign, the MoneyMonday's radio series aims to educate individuals and families about asset-building services they may not otherwise know exist. Topics include free online tax prep software, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA), the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), and the federally-funded health and nutrition program for women, infants and children, WIC. Each episode highlights common asset-related myths and features corresponding facts.

The MoneyMondays radio series is a service of the National Disability Institute's Real Economic Impact Tour, through a partnership with United Way and One Economy, thanks to generous support from Walmart.
