NDI staff members Elizabeth Jennings and DJ Diamond participate in Wi$eUp Teleconference
Friday, January 29th, 2010: NDI staff members Elizabeth Jennings and DJ DIamond had the honor of joining Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy Kathleen Martinez and Women’s Bureau Deputy Director Latifa Lyles on Friday's WI$EUp teleconference to discuss tools and strategies for building economic assets. National experts Richard Keeling (IRS-SPEC) and Luke Reynolds (FDIC) provided information on the Earned Income Tax Credit and Financial Literacy, followed by an overview of Individual Development Account programs by NDI. The call was rounded out by honored guest, Nakiea Spaulding who shared her personal success story as an IDA user with a disability.
Wi$eUp is a financial education program for Generation X & Y women. It promotes financial security through online education. The Women's Bureau hosts bimonthly teleconferences or webinars on topics covered in the Wi$eUp curriculum. Each teleconference includes a presentation, followed by a question and answer session.
