The Workforce Innovation Technical Assistance Center, or WINTAC, provides technical assistance and support to State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies in their implementation of the vision of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). NDI is one of the participating agencies in a project led by San Diego State University to operate WINTAC, providing technical assistance training on five major topic areas: the provision of Pre-Employment Training Services (PETS), implementing components of Section 511, use of the sub-minimum wage, increasing competitive integrated employment for individuals with disabilities, integrating Vocational Rehabilitation Services in the Job Center, and transition to common performance measures.
NDI serves in a leadership capacity with the WINTAC partners in addressing technical assistance needs regarding the integration of VR services in the Job Center and the transition to common performance measures. Other partner agencies in WINTAC include CSAVR (Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation), PolicyWorks, the University of Arkansas (CURRENTS), the Institute of Community Inclusion, George Washington University, the University of Washington, the Burton Blatt Institute with Syracuse University, and The Career Index.
