The NDI DPN Technical Assistance team, working in coordination with the national DPN Program Office, facilitates monthly administrative conference calls with the state-level DPN representatives from the 46 DPN grantees that also includes regional Federal Project Officers and representatives from the Social Security Administration to address updates and issues of importance and need.
The theme for the May call was Employment Transportation Opportunities and Strategies: Opportunities for the Public Workforce System and featured representatives from the Community Transportation Association of Americas Joblinks Employment Transportation Initiative and the Federal Transit Administrations United We Ride program, who highlighted transportation options and strategies for the public workforce system to help bridge the transportation gap to employment for individuals with disabilities, older adults, low-income and others with challenges to employment.
For example, check out the Transportation to Work: A Toolkit for the Business Community. It offers companies information on how to cost-effective transportation programs that are good for their employees, their businesses and the environment. The Toolkits online format provides information on topics such as tax incentives, shared ride programs, green transportation, and vanpool options.
